In the Hobbit, a good part of the adventure takes place in the dark realm of Mirkwood, where huge spiders have power of speech and hunger for meat, where elves are elusive and severe, and the night is hardly relieved by daybreak.

This yarn is primarily black, with dashes of green, blue, and a silvery gray.

"There was a greenish light about them, and in places they could see some distance to either side of the path. Yet the light only showed them endless lines of straight grey trunks like the pillars of some huge twilight hall."

...of course, though each forest is unique, it also shares with every forest of the world. I am reminded of the forests of the Pacific northwest by the colors of this skein as well. Though I never walked in them after dark, I think the skein would match them as well.
