The Psychic a Large 16x20 Photographic Art Print

This is a photographic print of a painting I did called "The Psychic". The photographic print is very lovely. It is the absolute best way I have found to create larger, long-lasting, true to color, slick reproductions of my artwork. Much better than digital prints in my opinion and much more affordable than high end art prints. I am a strong believer that art should be affordable. It is a standard size 16" x 20" that is ready to frame and I will sign each print prior to shipping. Each print will ship in a protective cardboard tube.

About the artwork:

The original painting is 3ft x4ft and acrylic on canvas. Painted by Amy Davis Roth (me) in 2009

I have a good friend who is a palm and tarot card reader. She is beautiful, sweet and funny, and despite our obviously different world-views (I am a skeptic), we have managed to stay good friends for many years. When I painted a painting about psychics, she agreed to be the subject.

I do not believe in psychic ability. I am a skeptic and I just haven't seen any evidence to prove that psychics exist and in many cases I have found that most people who claim psychic ability are unfortunately out to scam people out of their money.

This of course is not always the case and I do not believe that my friend who posed for this piece is trying to scam people. She genuinely wants to help people and she believes that she can tap into some unidentifiable and beyond the laws of physics, energy source. SHe cannot explain it but she really thinks she can help people on their path in life. This may or may not be the case. It is up to you to decide what you believe to be true.

I also want to help people, and this painting's intention is to warn people of charlatans, misinterpretations, trickery, mentalism and cold reading techniques. Despite supoosed good intentions, next time you consider the "wisdom" of a psychic, you may want to hold on to your money.

I wrote my own "reading" in the painting that is meant for the viewer. Here is what it says below (if you can not see it in the listing):

"As the moon begins to wane this month you may become more and more aware that things are not quite what you thought they were. Your house of finance may be threatened if you don’t come to terms with these new realizations. You may want to reevaluate where you stand in the world or you may find yourself disappointed. The truth is a slippery fish but the fishbowl it resides in is clear. You just must be willing to look. You may regret it if you let the chance slip by and remember, when the student is ready the teacher will appear, just be sure the teacher isn’t after your wallet. There is a new friend and a new foe around every corner and you will find them both. Put your trust into the outstretched hands of the wise and not the greedy or the uniformed. The future tells no tales. The cards and the stars are blind to your folly."
