It’s a simple and effective way to braid threads to finish off your latest craft project or to make your own jewellery. These kits will get you started.
Each kit includes fully illustrated instructions, a durable disc and hand dyed threads to complete your first braid.

Please note that types and colour of thread may vary from the image.

This kit will make a Flat braid; the threads form a 'v' pattern up the length of the braid. Once you have mastered the basics you can experiment with different threads to vary the finished braid.

Suitable for 7yrs and up.

The discs are designed as a starting kit for people to have a go at Kumihimo and as such the disc is much like the traditional marudai with no numbers. The threads are in the starting position. The instructions are in both in diagram and written step by step using directional descriptions. Relying on numbers to indicate moves limits the types of braids that you can learn to make on a disc. If from the beginning you are developing habits of following directional information you are more likely be able to progress to more intricate barid patterns.
