Mizuhiki Cord - Passionate Purple
Description
Mizuhiki is an ancient Japanese art form that uses a special cord. The cord is created from rice paper, that is tightly wound, starched to give it stiffness, and then colored. The ways of coloring include brightly colored mylar (a very thin plastic), thin strands of silk, or simply painted. The art form was used to tie up the hair of the samurai.Mizuhiki cord will hold its shape when curled or bent, making it perfect for use in altered books, scrapbooking, cards, jewelry, hair adornments and the like.
Each package contains five cords, each 92cm long (approximately 36 inches). They were part of my inventory when I had a brick and mortar rubber stamp store, and still have the original price sticker. Since I have no overhead on Etsy, I'm passing on the savings to you ♥
