Set of 3 Hand-Dyed Infant Prefolds - Tropical Island

This listing is for a set of 3 infant prefolds, each measuring 11 x 14 inches. They have been hand-dyed, using commercial dyes, into a gorgeous color combination that reminds me of a vivid tropical island with bright jungle green, deep ocean blue and sunny lagoon blue.

All cloth diapers have been washed twice prior to dyeing to "prep" them (aka make them soft and fluffy). After dyeing, they were washed twice more to ensure colorfastness.

Will these diapers bleed? I've been using hand-dyed diapers on my own children for over two years, and have never experienced any color transfer from dyed diaper to other diapers, covers, baby's clothes, etc. That said, I would still exercise caution the first couple uses- particularly when the diaper is wet and resting against something else for an extended period of time (for example, in the diaper pail).

Diaper service quality (DSQ) prefolds are used as I think they are far superior to cheaper prefolds such as Gerber's. DSQ prefolds are soft, fluffy, and extremely absorbent, making them ideal to add to your cloth diaper stash.

Prefolds also make unbeatable burp cloths as they protect shoulders from spit up, as well as mop up dribbles and spills. In addition, they can be used as an on-the-go changing pad.

Our hand-dyed prefolds can be also be embellished with your choice of fabric for an additional $2 per diaper. (See other listings for examples).

*Note: since these are dyed by hand, there may be a minor mottled appearance (where some areas are a bit darker/lighter than others). I think this only adds to the uniqueness of such handmade products, and usually hardly noticeable, if at all. In this set, the dark blue is a shade darker on one side than on the other, with a very slight mottled appearance throughout.

Prefolds come folded and tied with coordinating ribbon or raffia, complete with gift tag and care instructions.

Last photo is Oliver at 11 months old. He is modeling one of his hand-dyed, embellished prefolds. I have been cloth diapering for 4 years, and he is my third "fluffy bum" baby. :)
