Papa liked to smoke, but not just any old thing. Cigarettes were too bourgeoisie and pipes were a hassle. Then Papa discovered Dutch Masters cigars, 15 cents a pop, but he'd buy them by the box. Many, many boxes. Mama wasn't pleased about the cigar smell in the den, but she loved to save the empty boxes to store loose buttons, photographs, and clipped coupons.
