FREE POST - Summer Sky Queen Ebony and Turquoise Cabachon Hair Stick
Description
Queen Ebony, also called Solomon ebony, is one of the hardest timbers on the planet. It is grown in the Solomon Islands. It is so hard that it takes me four times as long to make one of these as it does a hair stick from a softer timber. It starts a very dark brown, and goes pitch black over time. It polishes to a very high shine.
I put a blue turquoise cabachon on the top to add contrast.
The timber part of the stick is 5 inches long, and mine holds my 27 inch hair in a french roll perfectly, all day, without having to rearrange.
Made by me, in my backyard, and please excuse the photos of my hands - that's what happens when you deal with wood and glue all day!
