I created this wand while I was tucked indoors on a particularly rainy day in mid-August.
I was participating in a crafts show in a 200 year old Church in Portree on the remote, awe inspiring island of Skye in northern Scotland. Few folks were brave enough to venture up to the Church in the downpour and I found myself moping a bit about "wasted time". I let my eyes wander around the scaffolding and the elaborate details of the woodwork. The beautiful craftsmanship that was employed in building and decorating this historical place must have taken innumerable hours of labor. I suddenly felt very silly and realized how fortunate I was to have this brief moment to share with a community of fellow artisans. All of these people had made the time to create their crafts, show them and explain what they were all about.

This one of a kind wand has a self collected double terminated quartz, Bottle Hill, Sierra foothills, CA on one end, two field collected rare ferro axenite crystal blades, New Melones Reservoir, CA and a fossilized ammonite from Madagascar at the other. I've included fluorite beads with strong Chevron displays, handmade glass and mother of pearl in the wrap that encircles the wand. The wires are colored, coated aluminum and solid copper for blood purification and life force energy. It measures 5 1/2 inches tip to tip.

The elements used in this wand are meant to inspire one to reflect on how they utilize the time available to them. When you bring this piece into your home allow yourself a spare moment during the day to sit with a warm cup of tea and meditate on being present and grounded. Notice how the dust particles hover lazily in the afternoon sun. Be aware of how much time you spend reliving events of the past or trying to imagine possibilities of how they will turn out in the future. None of these thoughts can empower you in the present. Try utilizing this wand to imagine that "You do not yet know what you do not know". That's a good thing because it allows for infinite possibilities!
