Framed Original Oil painting - old vintage ice skates primitive

I've been wanting to paint this piece for quite some time. About an hour from where I live (in Van Buren, ME), there's this place called the Acadian Village. Basically a reproduction village of how the Acadian settlers lived, back in the day. It's a great stop for tourists, who can learn all about the local Acadian culture we live in.

One summer, I took my family there when they came for a visit. While snapping pictures along the away, I came across this really old pair of Ice Skates. I fell in love with them immediately! I love the title "New Laces"... the ice skates are so old, but I really wanted to show the "newness" of the laces themselves.

Painted in oils on a 14 x 18" stretched canvas, it's an original (NOT a print) and signed by the artist (me!). The frame coordinates so well with the painting, by bringing out the contrasts rather than compete with the painting. It has a great dark brown color to it, and is highly textured, making it look a bit rustic, yet still very modern. The inner frame is an off-white/antique linen. Total framed size is approx. 21 x 25".

Would make a great gift for a hockey player, figure skater, grandparent, or for anyone who just wants to bring some primitive or antique style to their home.
