Southern Charm - Sterling Silver Alligator Salt Spoon Necklace

I found this tiny sterling silver salt spoon at an antique fair and fell in love with it. I spent several years as the curator of a small zoo that had a large population of alligators on display. I love alligators!

The spoon is old, not sure exactly how old, but probably made in early 1900. The detail is extraordinary, right down to the alligator's scales and scalloped shell bowl. The entire pendant measures just over 2 inches. I added a sterling silver bail and strung it from 18-inches of blackened sterling silver chain.

A truly unusual pendant and necklace, a real one-of-a-kind!
