Hand Knit Striped Wool Socks

Description

Children's, multicolor matching striped, hand knit wool blend socks are knit in smooth stockinette stitch with classic sock shaping (round heel and wedge toe). Ribbed one-inch cuffs hug the ankle. Reinforced heels provide extra durability. Stitches at the toe are grafted with kitchener stitch — a technique that forms an invisible join and leaves no rough edges inside the sock. These traditionally knit socks are knit by hand in-the-round with super fine weight yarn on US size 1 double-pointed needles (not on a machine) to obtain a gauge of 7.5 stitches per inch.

Sized for toddlers 24 to 36 months old whose feet measure about 5.5" (14cm) long from heel to toe. Heel to top of cuff is 5" (12,7cm).

Long-wearing, four-ply yarn (imported from Italy) is a blend of 70% superwash wool/30% nylon. Superwash wool does not felt. The yarn is permeated with all the wonderful properties of aloe vera, which helps the yarn glide smoothly on the needles.

Care Instructions:
Hand or machine wash in cold water.
Lay flat to dry (recommended) or tumble dry on low.
