God sent an angel (circle) to Mary, (blue) a virgin who had been pledged to marry a man named Joseph.
The Angel told Mary that she would give birth to a son (heart) and she should name him Jesus (white).
He would grow to spread the word of God (silver) and would ultimately give his life for the forgiveness of man’s sins (black).
Mary & Joseph (multi-colored) went to Bethlehem where Mary gave birth to Jesus. She placed him in a manger (silver) because there was no room at the inn (bronze). A bright star shone above the stable where the new King lay. (star)
There were shepherds in the fields nearby. An angel of the Lord appeared and said “I bring you good news of great joy (red) – today a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord”.
People across the lands saw the bright star shining. Three Kings from the East saw the star and began the long journey to Bethlehem to bring good tidings and gifts (coin) to Jesus.
