Heaven's Fortunes

Description

Composed of paper collage, gold star, glitter and seed pods, I melt layers of encaustic wax to seal everything into place. Once dried, the encaustic creates a natural matte finish, which I then buff to an ultra soft, sateen sheen. The melting/layering nature of encaustic creates a finished surface that is somewhat uneven; thick in some areas, while thinner in others...it has a true feel of handmade in each piece! The encaustic also dries to a warm, see-through, almost buttery yellow glow and reveals a soft beeswax aroma.

This piece was done on a prestretched artist canvas(backstapled of course!) and the sides gessoed white.
Ready to hang with a sawtooth hanger or buyer can easily pop into a frame of their choosing.
