Handwoven Strap

Description

This 50" long, 2" wide hand-woven strap, was created with naturally dyed organic wool.

The beige is from hinsii black walnut husks, and the soft peachy pink is from madder root.

I dyed and wove the piece on a traditional back-strap loom. It was so fun, and I love the versatility of the outcome.

My friend used the first one I made to create straps for a back-pack she is making for herself. These straps are extremely strong..

You could make a guitar strap, a belt, headbands, handbag straps, camera strap, or you could be traditional and gather firewood, tie it together and carry it over your shoulder with the help of this strap, ( like those who first wove using the back-strap technique).

For the creative person looking for organic and natural raw materials for the next project.
