Gothic Spring Kanzashi hairpin set

The lovely blooms on the wall of an ancient church... or something like that. :)

This kanzashi (hair ornament) set is two cute flowers in opposing colors. While one blossom is all black with a bright spring green accent petal, the other is that wonderful spring green with black stamens and a black accent petal. Both kanzashi are attached to a silver plated bobby pin and are easy to wear.

This was made using the tsumami method which is the traditional Japanese art of pinching and folding squares of fabric to make flowers of different designs. This kanzashi was made from hand dyed silk. While not made completely traditionally, it was made to stand up to more heavy use.

Each flower is about 2"(5cm) at its widest point and the entire kanzashi is about 2 7/8" (7.3cm) long.
