This is a really lovely version of the popular pumpkin hat.

Quality is my "thing". I take pride in my craftsmanship and attention to detail. I use only the very best yarns and techniques for every item I knit. My little hats may cost a bit more, but I believe you'll find them well worth it.

I carefully hand-knit this little hat from one of my favorite European yarns. In my opinion, this yarn is a perfect blend of extra-fine merino wool, microfiber, and cashmere. The result is a truly exquisite yarn that is beautiful to look at, velvety soft to the touch, and truly comfy, even against a newborn's sensitive skin.

Merino wool comes from a special breed of sheep and is the finest, softest wool in the world. It “breathes” exceptionally well, so it’s more comfortable in a wider range of temperatures than other fibers. Best of all, merino wool is never clammy, “itchy” or irritating, even against the most tender, sensitive skin.

Cashmere adds extra softness and a luxurious “hand” to this yarn. Microfiber adds soft strength and a touch of body.

The hat itself has knit-in "ridges", like those on a real pumpkin. It has a hand-knit taupe-colored pumpkin "stem" on top, along with a hand-knit green pumpkin "leaf". I attach the leaf securely, but so it will move a little on the hat, just like a real leaf.

The hat has a soft, rolled hem, which you can roll up or down, for exactly the fit you want for your precious little one and to allow some growing room.

The natural fibers in this wonderful yarn allow the hat to gently and comfortably hug your baby's head while remaining soft and elastic enough that it will never bind. This is one newborn hat that will be super comfy for your precious little one, in addition to looking absolutely darling!
