Bee Ring - Natural History Illustrated Jewelry

Apis Mellifera, the European honeybee, is a familiar pollinator all over the world (it actually originated in Africa.) From Egyptian hieroglyphics to Napoleon's insignia, this elegant creature has inspired artists for millennia. Make a connection with the history of art and culture by wearing my own version of this timeless symbol!

The drawings contained in each of the rings are all reductions of my own pen, ink, and watercolor illustrations, inspired by the etchings of Victorian naturalists. Every piece comes with a small information card that tells you a bit more about each animal. The ring you will receive will not be the piece pictured in this photograph, but one just like it, made to order.
The ring is sterling silver and set with a cabochon made out of glass. The image is protected in the back with a resin-coated layer of silver leaf. The cabochon itself is approximately .5 inches wide and .7 inches tall.
