Textile Collage Postcard

Description

This small art piece is a 4 x 6 inch quilted and embellished postcard. The front is made entirely of hand surface designed fabrics that have been shibori dyed, printed, painted, stamped, rubbed and/or discharged. Collage elements have been stitched together.

This fabric card has been created with layers of machine stitched fabric, fused to Peltex, machine quilted, fused to the postcard back, then satin stitched around the edges with zigzag or decorative stitches.

The postcard backs are constructed of two layers of muslin with the words "Post Card" and the center line text printed on fabric and then zigzagged on.

The postcard is ready to mail -- just write your message and the address in permanent ink, affix a stamp, and take it to the Post Office to be hand cancelled. It comes with a recycled paper envelope if you'd prefer not sending it through the mail by itself.

This card is a versatile, affordable piece of one-of-a-kind art. It can be displayed on an easel, framed individually or grouped, used as a regular postcard for a special occasion, or included as a gift tag with a present.
