Lily Petal Porcelain Vase and Candle Holder

Description

This piece is a little less embellished than many of my pots, but I like the simple elegance of it. Three peachy-pink lily petals curve around a triple lobed form in a pearly white glaze. Each petal has a yellow accent and the rim is decorated in the same yellow.

The form is 3.75 inches tall at the tip of the petals and about 2.5 inches across. It is a perfect size for a miniature flower bouquet, or even for a candle taper with few flowers around it.

The vase/candle holder is shown in the first photo on my Porcelain Lily Pad Plate, which is listed separately.

My studio overlooks my large perennial and annual garden, and the botanical influence is strong in my work. The color is painted with underglaze colors and fired to over 2200º F in one of my electric kilns.

My work has been shown at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, and is in the Corning Glassworks Executive Club collection, as well as in private collections across the country and abroad.
