Funky Banana Hat

Description

This hat was handknit from yarn made from banana fibres! No, it does not smell like bananas (everybody asks!) It looks similar to Recycled Silk yarn, but knits up a bit chunkier and has a soft, cotton-like feel.
The brim is asymmetrical, sloping from almost nothing, on the left side & back, to about 3 inches (8 cm) in the front, and 4 inches (10 cm) over the left eye. This is held up with a large black vintage faux fur button. The brim is outlined in black soy yarn single crochet stitch.
Because each skein of banana yarn is different, this hat is truly one-of-a-kind!

Yarn: 100% banana fibres from the Wool Peddler, a fair trade yarn hand spun in Nepal. Dry cleaning recommended.
Trim is South West Trading Company's "Phoenix" 100% soy silk.

Size: Adult large - this is a big, soft hat, great for someone with lots of hair!

Colours: a little bit of everything but red is dominant. The button is black.
