ROOSTER in Fine Thread Filet Crochet

Description

Here is a Rooster - an image crocheted simply in a beige rose with a cream edging in Filet Crochet.

The Rooster is a popular subject in folk art, and various country styles, including French Country.

I crocheted this from my own chart, so that when laid on a table or a dark background the image of a proud Rooster just stands out!! See the pictures!

The edging or border is done in a combination of textured stitches in a cream color. There is first a ridge - with a finished edge in "crab stitch" or reversed single crochet.

The crochet thread is Heirloom weight size 20, a Fine Thread.

It's shape is an irregular octagon - with eight sides.

It is approximately 15 1/2 inches high and 12 1/2 inches wide -- it has been blocked and lightly spray-starched to hold its shape.

RECOMMENDED CARE: Carefully Hand Wash in cool water with a mild liquid detergent (no bleach); lay or pin out out to dry, as desired.
