Amethyst and sterling silver swirl swan earrings - ancient design

Description

This earring shape has been around for thousands of years. I've modified the basic shape by making a more open spiral, and embellishing the spiral with more wire and gemstones...in this case, faceted amethyst rondelles. I've also antiqued this particular pair, and then lightly polished the high points, to highlight the wirework, and to give them a more "ancient" look.

This is a very earthy, primitive look. This style of earring is now my absolute favorite, I have a pair to match every outfit, and I get TONS of compliments on them.

LORE-Amethyst is said to attract justice and protect against burglars and thieves, as well as wards off danger and violent death. It's also reputed to alleviate migraines and improve concentration. It's also the birthstone for February.
