Blue Lagoon - a driftwood footed Earth Pod bowl by Earth N Elements Pottery

Description

This piece was first wheel thrown and then hand altered into a bowl that was then settled into several pieces of driftwood which act as the foot or base.
Because the pot is nestled into the driftwood to create a custom seated fit, it is not a perfectly round interior bottom. Like my large driftwood sets the bottom rises and falls following the lines of the driftwood.

Finished in floating blue on the inside and out with rust, bronzey black and brown frilly edges.

Note: This piece is for decorative purposes only, not intended for food service and the highly textured, scored edges are very pointy and can be quite sharp - so please keep out of reach of small children and nosy neighbors.

Measures approx. 6" tall and 8" wide overall measurements with a bowl depth of about 4".

The driftwood that is used for the base is glued into the bottom.


Made of stoneware clay, and signed.
