She looked much like any of the other young women in the village. Although perhaps more beautiful with her emerald green eyes and long blonde hair so pale, it looked almost white in the sunlight. But look a little closer and one could see just the ends of pointed ears and a faraway look in her starlit eyes.

In Western European folklore a changeling was a child of faeries, elves or trolls secretly left in place of a human child. They often possess great beauty or special powers.
