Eloise The Personality Pot

Description

The Personality Pots are a low-fired series with unusual long curving necks and gestural bodies. Each piece is given a name to fit its unique personality and stance.

Eloise is plain gray on one side and bright spunky red on the other. She can turn either way to express the mood of the day. Eloise measures about 5"x4"x3".

This unique pot has been beautifully colored by flames alone. The Hand-built stoneware clay was fired in a backyard campfire pit filled with organic material (banana peels, moldy bread, leaves, you name it!) The colors from the burning materials were sucked into the porous clay surface. After firing, it was thoroughly cleaned and polished with floor wax.

The process used to render the brilliant colors unfortunately makes low-fired pieces unsuitable for use with water or food. It may be used safely with dry goods and inedible materials.
