Two X Ray notebooks, Noir Series 2. Pages cut from my horror film lesson plans, Poe short stories, and other macabre ephemera.
Description
It starts with the covers: X-rays. A little quirky, a little noir.
Inside these notebooks, it just gets better. The pages are cut from paper destined for the recycling bin; they were printed on one side but blank on the other.
These notebooks have a dark theme: Many of the pages in these notebooks are cut from worksheets, handouts, and research I did for my lesson plan on classic horror films. The other pages are from Edgar Allan Poe short stories and other grim miscellany from my box of rescued paper.
Very Halloween. Some of us, of course, are very Halloween all the year round.

1. The covers.
In the first picture, the cover x-ray (Mr. Fillings-In-My-Skull Guy) looks red because you're seeing my red wall behind it. You, too, can make Mr. Fillings Guy change colors just by holding him up in front of different things. Or try to match his skull up with the skull of your nearby friend. What fun!
Ooh! Read this -- Etsy member gasmama, much more knowledgeable than I, told me this: "The open- mouthed skull x-ray -- we do this particular view to check to see if the very top of the vey top neck bone (called the odontoid peg) is broken -- to check for a 'hangman's fracture.' Makes it even more spooky, imho."
I agree!

2. The guts.
I sized these papers by hand, one at a time, on my little paper slicer, then had them spiral-bound. These journals are the result.
As you flip the pages, you'll never know what bit of ephemera you'll be writing on next. Kind of fun, actually.
Most of the pages in the larger notebook are lined (my highly scientific method: Run my pages through a Xerox and photocopy lines onto the blank sides).
Pages in the smaller one are unlined.
.............
Notebook sizes:
The larger one is is: 8.5 by 5.5 inches.
The smaller one is: 5.5 by 4.25 inches.
Hey. They're just notebooks. But why not carry something fabulous?
