S.O.S. Chain - Beaded Necklace

Description

This bright and cheerful necklace is made with Czech glass seed beads and dyed shell beads, using a metal-free adaptation of the basic stringing technique. Colors include white, navy, teal, blue, and yellow.

Four sets of shell beads create a repeating pattern of Morse code S.O.S. The background colors for each set alternate from yellow to navy and white stripes. Each S.O.S. section is separated by a ring of seed beads that mimics a life preserver or porthole. These tiny rings are made with peyote or gourd stitch.

This necklace can be worn long, or wrapped once for a shorter style. The overall look changes depending on which area of pattern faces the front when the chain is wrapped. "S.O.S" would look great with any outfit featuring matching colors or other neutrals, and is the perfect accessory for a vacation cruise, or lounging by the pool!

The entire length of this necklace is 52 inches (132 cm).
