OOAK Crochet Wool Scarf, Extra Long, Hand dyed, Blue Suede Shoes by Alba Ranch

"Blue Suede Shoes" is a OOAK hand crocheted wool scarf that is hand dyed as piece work after it was finished to achieve the glorious blue colour that you see in the photos. It has been crocheted in an open lace stitch with alternating rows of closed stitching to provide an usual pattern and texture.

This is my Etsy FAST September Challenge project. When I dyed it this colour, the song that came to mind immediately was "Blue Suede Shoes" even though the actual colour of blue suede at that time was much darker of a blue. The song was written and first recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955 but is most known for the version that Elvis Presley performed on television 3 times during 1956. "Blue Suede Shoes" was the first million selling country song to cross over to both rhythm and blues and pop charts.

The scarf is 11 inches wide x 80 inches long plus 4 inch fringe on both ends for an overall length of 88 inches. This scarf is extra long and extra wide to make it versatile for draping, wrapping, hanging and lots of warmth!

The wool came from a CVM/Romdale sheep and was processed into a lovely 2 ply fingering weight at Shepherd's Mill.

Colours are depicted as best as my camera, computer and monitor will allow. We are a smoke free home, but we are dog friendly. The dogs did not get to model the new scarf or play tug of war with it. The stand and white blouse are not included.

Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry. Do not apply heat and agitation or you will felt the scarf.
