Description

This "Steampunk Monk" sculpture is bird-like, along turkey vulture lines. It's two faced in nature and ambiguous as to which side is front and which is back. I've photographed it in the pose I prefer, but its head swivels so it changeable.

The last image is pre-painting, pre-stitching to show the head out and scale.

The corseted neck collar is drilled and laced, on one side with red thread, finished off with dangling hook and eyelets. The other side is laced with copper wire, finished with brass rings, also re-positionable.

Created of fired ceramic, oil paint, thread, wire, sewing notions. Delicate sheets of porcelain are textured and draped to create the flowing shoulders of Steampunk Monk's body. The head is formed like a stopper and sculpted to fit inside the neck.
