Description

This bag is what I call a Mutt. You name the brand of wool yarn and its probably in here.

I let fate pick out the stripes. This is how I did it:
I put all of my scrap yarn balls into a bag.
Without looking, I would reach in and pull one out and start knitting...
When I got bored with that color, I'd break the yarn and place the ball into a 2nd bag.
Then I pull another color out from bag 1 without looking.
I repeat this until all the balls have been used up.
I do this over and over....and I LOVE THE RESULTS:)

For the edging, I chose a most neutral and dirt/kid friendly color. Using a neutral to finish the edges keeps it overwhelming the striping. Kinda like how you can wear any color shirt with khaki pants.

How is it made? First, I knit up a giant bag which takes me around 12 to 15 hours. You could put a small child into it once it has been seamed together....seriously! After the knitting is done, I toss it into the washer for shrinking. The hot water, detergent and agitation transforms the bag from a stretchy over-sized behemoth into a soft, very pliable yet dense fabric that is stain resistant and very durable.

The bag has a set of handcrafted & hand-dyed leather straps colored exclusively with vegetable dyes. They are designed with terrific criss-cross stitching for a sensational finished seam. Accented with silver-toned metal hardware.

Knit from a collection of soft pure merino wool yarn scraps. Some with a small amount alpaca and/or mohair.

Hand wash and air dry. Use an old razor to shave any fuzzies off.

You'll have a lot of fun toting this bag around town:) The buckle, taken from a belt my beautiful little girl out grew, is sure to catch the eyes of a lot of admirers.

Measures about:
8" h x 12" w x 6" d. Its fat base will resist tipping over too:)
