This is the first of my pipes to be offered on Etsy.

"New Directions" started out like all of my pipes do, a very plain commercially produced briar pipe with a boring finish and no flair at all.
After removing the dark ugly stain that was totally covering the grain, I carved a set of compass-like "points" into the wood, then sanded it down to a silky finish, and as a final step, applied hot natural beeswax and buffed off the extra to reveal the wood's natural beauty.
I also added a custom fit sterling silver spacer between the stem and shank, which is hand engraved with the pipe's number (#2), it's name (New Directions), it's completion date (November 4, 2008), and "Carved by Lindsay Legler Dreaming Dragon Designs".
The name of the new owner can be engraved on the other side of the spacer at no extra charge. Just let me know in the comment to seller area during checkout.

This item is One of a Kind, and the exact design will never be repeated. All of my pipes are named and numbered for the benefit of collectors, and no two will ever be alike.

I am willing to take commissions of custom pipes. This can take up to one year to complete, depending on the complexity, materials availability and my current workload.
