Woodland Animals - Handmade Toy

Description

This set of woodland animals is sure to inspire hours of games and role play! These forest creatures are a great addition to your child's toy chest or nature table! The set includes a bear, a doe, a buck, a rabbit, a squirrel, and a fox.

For each animal, I select a locally purchased hardwood that invokes images of a real animal. The variations in the look and feel of the wood help your child's imagination bring these animals to life.
The Doe and Buck are Hickory; the rabbit and squirrel are Maple; the bear is Walnut; and the fox is Cherry. All of the animals have a hand-rubbed non-toxic mineral oil finish that brings out the natural beauty of the wood.

Buck - Approximately 3 3/4" long, 4 1/2" tall, and 3/4" thick.
Doe - Approximately 3 1/2" long, 4" tall, and 3/4" thick.
Bear - Approximately 4 1/4" long, 2 1/2" tall, and 7/8" thick.
Rabbit - Approximately 3" long, 2" tall, and 1/2" thick.
Squirrel - Approximately 2 3/4" long, 2 1/2" tall, and 1/2" thick.
Fox - Approximately 5" long, 1 1/2" tall, and 13/16 of an inch thick.

Safety
I sand each toy silky-smooth and round all edges for safety. I use only domestic hardwoods - no pine, breakable parts, paint, or stain. The finish is non-toxic mineral oil.

Quality
This toy should last for several generations! I will happily repair or replace anything that breaks during normal use. Mineral oil is commonly available at your local drug store and can be used to refresh the finish.
