Description

Elegant vintage 70's long skirt by Alison Jane. It's black with gold metallic diamond-shapes running through. Rear enclosed zip with hook fastener at the top. The interior waistline is finished with black braid.

The skirt has a lovely A-line shape and it's floor length. Perfect for parties or anywhere you want to look the epitome of chic!

You can team this skirt with lots of different styles of blouses or jackets but I think it looks particularly elegant worn with a sheer or lightweight blouse as shown in the photos.

The blouse is not included in this sale. Used for dressing purposes only. I have another black and gold blouse that will look great with this skirt. You can find it here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32664277

Labelled: Alison Jane. Size 14. To fit bust 36", hips 38". Spuntex. Jersey fabric in Terylene ICI (please read fabric notes below).

The measurements provided are of the actual garment. If your waist measures 25 - 26 inches, this skirt should fit you. My waist measures 27 inches and I can just about fit into the waist of this skirt. The modern day equivalent sizing is UK 8-10 (US 4-6).

Measures:

Waist 25" (63.5cm)
Hips 38" (96.5cm)
Length 42" (106.5cm)

Condition:

Excellent. No faults or issues.

FABRIC NOTES:

TERYLENE - The trade name for a synthetic polyester fibre produced by the chemicals company ICI. Cloth made from Terylene keeps its shape after washing and is hard-wearing.

Terylene was the first wholly synthetic fibre invented in Britain. It was created by the chemist J R Whinfield of Accrington in 1941. In 1942 the rights were sold to ICI (DuPont in the USA, where it is called Dacron) and bulk production began in 1955. Since 1970 it has been the most widely produced synthetic fibre, often under the generic name polyester.
