TAIKO - The Original Japanese nagado drum necklace in dark brown

Description

This miniature version of a Japanese nagado taiko drum is entirely handcrafted out of polymer clay. It hangs from an 18" black leather necklace with a silver tone lobster clasp. If you prefer, I can put in on an adjustable-length leather cord with sliding knots, so you can wear it long or choker-style. Please let me know if you'd rather have this option at checkout :)

Drum measures approximately 2 cm in length. Size and detail will vary since they are made one by one - each one is truly unique! All of these nagado taiko have securely attached side rings; the "tacks" on the drum skin are painted on and the entire drum is varnished. This listing is for the dark brown model pictured in the first three images; it is also available in light brown, as shown in the last photo.

This is THE original taiko necklace design by tatsuko (me!), who is also an avid taiko player with Montreal's Arashi Daiko; the necklace was first conceived in 2003 along with its okedo counterpart, and exhibited and sold at the 2005 and 2007 North American Taiko conferences - and I'll be in Los Angeles for this year's conference again this August, yay!
