Vintage Japanese kimono haori jacket meisen ikat in teal with flowers

Description

Haori are jackets traditionally worn over a kimono ensemble. They also look classy over jeans and a nice shirt, little black dress, or more formal outfit. Unlike kimono, a haori does not need to close in the front, so if you're busty or have wide hips, never fear. Easier to wear than full kimono, this will be an elegant Asian element to add to your wardrobe.

All of my vintage Japanese garments have been hand sewn unless specified otherwise. Dry clean only, please!

---------About this garment----------

This haori is in good condition and likely dates from perhaps 1920's - 1930's (late Taisho era, early Showa era). The silk has a meisen/ikat woven design of flowers in silver gray, fucia and deep teal blue. The lining is solid pink.

There are some light spots due to age and wear, which is typical for garments of this age. This haori is still very much a wearable garment, also suitable for display.

Wrist to wrist: 49" (124 cm)
Sleeve length: 13.5" (34 cm)
Shoulder to hem: 26" (66 cm)
Body width across the back: 24" (61 cm)

This will comfortably fit a woman 5' 5" or shorter with an average build. If you are taller, the sleeves may be very short for you.
