Boys silk christening kimono with hawks and bamboo

Description

Traditionally worn in a Shinto ceremony, this little kimono can also be worn as a costume by your little samurai. It is lightly used but in excellent condition. I suspect the lining is synthetic, but the rest of the kimono is silk.

This is a fabulous piece with lots of metallic accents, a pair of bold hawks and golden bamboo forest. It would make an excellent display or wall hanging as it is shorter than an adult kimono. I keep one over my desk, right behind my computer!

All my kimono items have been hand sewn unless noted. Vintage silk is best dry cleaned by a reputable cleaner. Always air your kimono between wearings and never display in full sun as the silk with discolor and degrade over time.
