crazy eye lampwork bead silvered ivory skull bead

Description

This skull bead looks like it could have been unearthed recently with it's ivory color. The ivory glass has been worked until it made some striations of color and then silvered ivory was used to enhance the natural look. The silver is added to ivory glass and melted in. It looks a bit ancient to me and yet, of course, it has the shine of glass.
The eyes in this skull are a special technique, working with a silvered glass to create kind of a wild look. I hope it shows in the pictures as well as it can with the 'wildness' magnified on the bead by placement of a transparent glass over it.

One inch tall and a bit less than one inch wide at the widest face section, (3cm in height and 2.5 cm in width) this bead has been annealed for durability.
The hole runs vertically and is 3/16" large enough to accommodate 16 g silver wire. Using wire, you could do some interesting wire design for a pendant as one way you could use it.
Good for October for Day of the Dead or Halloween, however, skulls are always fun to wear!
