Smoke grey and silver is such a versatile combination; a dramatic enough statement to enhance any evening look, but with a classic appeal that is perfect for day.

To make this piece, I wrapped smooth, cool 9mm rounds of natural smoky quartz in sturdy sterling silver wire; for a necklace that feels substantial, uncluttered, and very feminine.

The stones are a dusky, shadowy grey, with just the faintest hint of yellow, like sunlight through heavy fog. They are all smooth as water, and cool to the touch, which makes them lots of fun to play with. They are transparent, with a few inclusions and some minor zoning.

The necklace measures 22 inches (55 cm) long, and is finished with a swansneck clasp in antiqued sterling silver.
