Medium Topaz Droplet Stick 5 necklace

Description

This lampwork glass necklace was handmade in my studio from Effetre Italian glass. It is a continuation of the exploration of pressing glass that began in my Droplet series and which I am calling my Droplet Stick series. Each long bead is comprised of a glass donut bail, a long cylinder of glass and a pressed glass circle made of transparent medium topaz. The lengths of the beads are graduated from a long piece at the center, flanked by two medium length pieces, and then 2 smaller pieces at the sides. All 5 pieces are well-fused and I will include spacers of my choice with the glass beads. I am truly inspired by the possibilities in the manipulation and organization of these glass discs, and will continue this exploration to see where it leads me. The beads measure between approximately 66mm and 59 mm high x 10mm wide x 9.5 mm thick at the bail(2 1/2" to 2 1/4" high x 3/8" x 3/8"). Dressed up or dressed down, this set is a stunner!

All of my glasswork has been kiln annealed for longevity and cleaned with a diamond reamer. The beads were created on a 3/32" mandrel.
