Color of Joy - Fused Glass Earrings

Inspired by an artist challenge at the Thursday Sweet Treat Blog Project (check it out here: http://thursdaysweettreat.blogspot.com/), these colorful earrings are bold and bright.

Funky, fun and full of color – these earrings radiates joy – and helps cheer up your day just by wearing them. So be bold – and wear your joy. Stripes of lime, mauve, blue, yellow, green, and red are layered in a unique vibrant sequence over a base of fire engine red.

These earrings were created from fused art glass. After an initial kiln firing, the pieces were cut from a larger pattern bar, shaped to provide the desired effect and then re-fired to achieve a beautiful polish as well as strength and durability. The silver plated bails are affixed to the backs using a super strong glass compatible epoxy.

The earrings measure slightly less than 1/2 inch in width and the glass pieces dangle 1 1/2 inches from the top of the sterling silver french hooks.
