Water Caltrop Natural Seed Pod Necklace

Description

This one-of-a-kind necklace features a pendant made from three water caltrop seed pods arranged in a chain, descending from biggest (3" wide) to smallest (2" wide) in size.

The entire 4" long focal point dangles from a 19" chain, that can be lengthened an additional 2.25". The smaller accent chain is about 17" long without the extender chain.

All findings have a antique-brass finish.

I did not know this until after I made the necklace, but the water caltrop is a water chestnut plant that grows in slow-moving waters in warm areas in Africa and Eurasia. Most of the plant is submerged in water up to 15 ft deep, and each of these seed pods contains a single seed.

If you look at the seeds in the opposite way (from how I arranged them), their embossed lines resemble a bull head with horns, or a bat with outstretched wings!
