Otherwise known as La Regina di Saba or Reine de Saba, the Queen of Sheba was an exotic woman, mysterious and seemingly all powerful. She also appears in Turkish and Persian painting, in Kabbalistic treatises, and in medieval Christian mystical works, where she is viewed as the embodiment of Divine Wisdom and a foreteller of the cult of the Holy Cross. In Africa and Arabia her tale is still told to this day and, indeed, her tale has been told and retold in many lands for nearly 30 centuries.

Hollywood, too, has fallen under her spell, releasing its own polished versions of her story in the glossy Solomon and Sheba of 1959, again in Solomon and Sheba (1995), starring Halle Berry, and a third epic in 1997 simply entitled Solomon (starring Ben Cross And Vivica A Fox). The sources and history of the legend, however, are elusive. No other popular heroine is so celebrated but so puzzling.

Trying to ascertain who she may really have been is an arduous task, but my objectives here are clear and concise. To create a pendant worthy and in recognition of the Queen of Sheba's famed beauty.

Artfully positioned coils form an exquisite labyrinth on one side, to create a portrait that is at once alluring and infinitely sensual.

To the other side, tangled brambles of Kenyan Red Rubies, Mystic Champagne Citrine, Mystic Labradorite and, a new one, Mystic Pearl Quartz form delicate riots of colour and texture.

A tempetuous swag adds movement towards the bottom, rather like ruffled skirts, I feel. This beguiling confection is comprised of more Mystic Pearl Quartz paired with Labradorite, Brazilian Amethyst and Pink Tourmaline.

Towards the centre, holding court in all her majestic glory is a GEM GRADE BRAZILIAN PINK TOPAZ Concave Briolette, utterly flawless throughout her 22 Carats. This darling is quite possibly the most beautiful Pink Topaz I've laid eyes upon.

Further wired intricacies adorn the opulent bail, in line with the aura of opulence surrounding the Queen of Sheba. All these have been crafted from Oxidised 999 Fine and 925 Sterling Silver Wires which have, in turn, been buffed with precision to achieve a 3-Dimensional result.

Above all, regal and sensual, my Queen of Sheba pendant stands at approximately 4.5" tall by 2.25" at her most curvaceous. Her length, connected on both ends with Polished Sapphire Ovals, adjusts from 22" to 25".
