Handmade Table Runner Maija Isola PEPE Marimekko oy Suomi Finland 1972

Maija Isola “PEPE” by Marimekko oy Suomi Finland 1972. I found this fabulous piece of fabric at a flea market and immediately recognized it. It had some awful stains at the bottom that I couldn't soak out and some holes where it had been stapled to canvas. I recycled it in to a table runner, magnets and coasters. Here's the table runner that measures 22 1/2” (57.2cm) x 45 1/2” (115.6cm) and is lined with muslin fabric. I was able to salvage the Marimekko stamp by making it the label for this table runner. Unique ,to say the least, and sure to be the topic of conversation at your next get together. I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have about my work!

PLEASE NOTE: It is natural to find flaws when working with vintage fabrics. I do my best to cut around holes and soak out stains. However, I can't guarantee perfection. On this piece, there are 2 very small holes smaller than a pin head. To cut around them would have meant loosing a major piece of the small bird so I didn't. They in no way detract from the piece and would be considered charming by most!

Care Instructions:
~~Wash on delicate cycle, cold water and mild detergent. Dry on medium heat and iron on cotton setting... All fabrics have been pre-washed!
