God set the rainbows in the sky to remind us of His Love and His Faithfulness to keep His Word, His Promise to us, despite our faults and mistakes. This gorgeous necklace set is a reminder to us that HE IS FAITHFUL, and is an encouragement to be faithful to our word. Marriage vows are a covenant between a man and a woman, promises to love and be faithful all the days of your life, in good times and bad. Let this set be a promise to keep your covenant and to look to God for His example of FAITHFULNESS.

"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. ... I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. ... I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant..." Genesis 9:13-16

These hand formed gold filled ear wires include five hand wrapped genuine gemstone drops. There are 5 different gemstones to signify the different colors of the rainbow:

RED GARNETS: Symbolic of a Blood Covenant. Have you ever shaken someone's hand to seal a deal? The origin of the hand shake is much different than what we do today. When two people were going to make a commitment to each other, and they wanted it to be iron-clad, an un-breakable contract, they would each make a cut in their forearms, grasp each other's arm at the elbow so that their forearms met, and let their blood mingle. Now that is a hand shake, and that is a serious commitment and promise! The ultimate blood covenant was made, of course, over 2000 years ago by Jesus himself.

ORANGE/YELLOW CITRINE: Symbolic of Sun Shine and the Glory of God. It is the light and happiness that comes with the comfort, knowledge, and re-assurance of an unbreakable promise.

GREEN PERIDOT: Symbolic of the New Life that comes after a commitment is made. The Holy Spirit brings hope, new growth, and the promise of rest and healing as the old passes away and a new life begins.

BLUE/INDIGO IOLITE: Symbolic of Rain water. God sent rain to destroy, but He promised never again. We still see rain, we still have trials. He did not promise to never send rain again, only that it would not destroy us entirely. Rain is good, for after the storm it brings life. This necklace is a reminder that times may get difficult but there is another side, and God is Faithful to bring you through. It is also interesting that three of the words associated with blue are "faithfulness"(true blue, referring to color-fastness) "fidelity" (English brides wore a blue ribbon as a symbol of this), and "covenant remembering" (the tassels on an Israelites garment had blue threads to remind them of the commands of the Lord to them.)

VIOLET AMETHYST: Symbolic of Kingship/Royalty/Value. Purple dye was a very valuable commodity, literally worth more than its weight in gold. This is why it is associated with royalty, because you had to be extremely wealthy to afford it. Our rainbow finishes off with violet to remind us of the true value of a covenant promise of faithfulness. It is interesting that the dye used in biblical times was derived from mollusks (water) and did not turn purple until it was exposed to sun light. Mix rain with the glory of God and see what you get, something beautiful and extremely valuable; a rainbow sealed with an unbreakable promise.

The earring stones can be worn all together as the full spectrum of the rainbow. Each earring can also be worn with any desired stone combination. Choose blue & violet, or yellow & green or whatever you'd like! This makes them extremely versatile!

**********What is Gold-Fill?**************
There is a difference between gold-plate and gold-filled. Gold-fill is 50 to 100 times thicker than regular gold-plating, and about 17 to 25 times thicker than heavy gold electroplate. Gold-filled items are made by combining a layer or layers of gold alloy to a base metal (usually brass, copper, or steel) then rolling or drawing the metal to the desired thickness and shape. Gold-plate is a very thin deposit of gold, electroplated or electrochemically applied to the piece.
