OLD GRAY OAK Copper Sculpture Pendant Necklace with Labradorite and Hematite

Description

This tree pendant, depicting one of the beautiful old Live Oak trees that are found here along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, was crafted by shaping a non-tarnish copper wire into a tree from and adding gemstone 'leaves'. The wire creates the bark and gnarled roots of this old oak, and the branches are represented by gorgeous chips of semiprecious Labradorite gemstones and small rounds of reflective Hematite gems. The tree is inside a handformed circle of bare copper. Over time, this ring will develop the antiqued patina of age, adding even more contrast and beauty to this pendant.

This pendant is suspended from a simple satin cord. The clasp is fully handcrafted of copper. The necklace measures approx. 16 1/4 inches in length and the pendant is approx. 1 1/2 inches wide.

Labradorite is a semiprecious gemstone that is primarily grayish or yellowish gray in color, but is prized for its reflective 'oil slick' effect. Hematite is a gemstone that is often associated in ancient lore with the bloodstream and passions of the heart.
