SEA URCHIN - Oceanic Inspired Doodle Bowl

This is a very cool bowl!
It's ridged all the way around so that the black dots are on the raised parts and the green dots are on the indented parts. When I was trying to figure out what to call this, I kept visualizing a sea urchin shell, with all those tiny dots all in a row where their little spins used to be, and my little "URCHIN" bowl was born! :)

On this bowl, while the clay was still wet, I pulled my fingers up the sides to make vertical indentations. After it was bisque fired, I painted 3 layers of the green and black dots so that they are like small bumps, creating quite a tactile sensation between the ridges and the slightly raised colored dots. How Fun!!

The "URCHIN" bowl is about 6" in diameter and 1" deep. The outside of the bowl is painted the same gorgeous kiwi/lime green as the dots and is signed and dated by yours truly.

All of my functional pottery is painted with lead free/food safe glazes and is microwave and dishwasher safe, although I do recommend hand washing, just to be safe.... these are works of art, after all! Please do not put this in the oven!

This bowl is a fabulous size for a small salad, soup or a yummy dish of ice cream! Would make a unique and wondrous gift for any beach comber or ocean lover....or someone who loves green!! :)
