Convertible Fingerless Gloves Mittens with Thumb Flaps, Sock Wool, Sz 7.25 to 8

Description

I fell in love with all the different colorways made in sock weight yarn this summer and asked myself why such beautiful yarns are hidden in shoes and beneath pants legs. I decided to use some of these delicious yarns to create some of my convertible mitts. This pair is made from a colorway called, "Florence", which contains beautiful Autumn shades of oranges and greens. This sports weight sock yarn is 70% wool and 30% nylon.

These gloves are crocheted using a tight thermo stitch so are a fairly dense lighter weight mitt with ample flap overlap to help keep in the warmth.

The idea for thumb flaps was given to me by a customer after trying to use a pen while wearing her new convertible gloves.

With a flick of your finger you can open the thumb flap and use a pen without removing your gloves. Or pop both thumb flaps and you can text away on your cell!!

This pair measures about 8"(20.3cm) in circumference and 8"(20.3cm) from wrist to tip of mitt without any stretching. These mitts will fit a hand around 7.25" to 8" in size. The cuffs on these wonderful mitts are just under 3.5"(8.9cm)long.

To find out your glove size measure from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger. Also measure around your palm at the knuckles. The measurements are usually the same, but if not, go by the larger number or compare to the measurements I listed. If you have any question on fit just contact me with your measurements.

There is a loop and button to keep the flap back on each glove when going fingerless. I try hard to find just the right buttons to accent each pair of gloves.
