There's something missing in this scene and I'm sure you know what it is -- visions of sugar plums dancing overhead?! That's what I think of, anyway, when I look at this sweetie. This is a scan of an antique French postcard. Joyeux Noel is barely visible at top. You might want to re-write that in with some gold leaf on your own printed copy. My original card is written on but not dated, so I'm not positive but I think it's early 1920s. The little girl looks like a sleeping angel and I love the vivid color tinting that was done decades ago -- the pink and yellow, a tried and true color combo. There are details in the pillow lace and the texture of the blanket seems almost 'touchable.' The illustrated background of the scan has been cleaned up some but if you zoom in, you'll see scratch marks and imperfections inherent to the printing of the original card. None of this will show up if printed at postcard size (about 3.5 by 5.5 inches) but even if you do enlarge it, I think you'll still love the authentic vintage look. And I've got a feeling that you're gonna put lots of creative things in that background to show what she's dreaming of:) You may want to crop the background completely out like I did in the gallery view, but that's your choice. I'll send you the full-view scan as seen in the second photo.
