Shadowbox Romantic Shabby -BIJOU - Mixed Media

Description

I love the way this shadowbox turned out ! It is very romantic , feminine and charming ! The box is covered with layers of paint , texture , papers and then distressed . Embellished with sweet little girl images from engraved illustrations from an 1880's periodical magazine . I have added a Victorian photograph , bits of lace , words from sheet music , old advertising , scrabble tiles , antique wire tinsel , chandelier crystal , a skeleton key , a tiny book , a silver button , a playing card , old buttons , and a few more goodies . The " centerpiece " is an antique bisque doll that I have dressed in white . I perched her on a tart tin base and added a cast iron old goat ... she is walking him on a ball chain leash ! On top I have added the definition for Bijou in a little metal frame .
Signed and dated . Measures 10" wide open ( does NOT close all the way ) and 6 " tall , 2 " deep .
