Truly a piece of Kentucky folk art, this carved wooden brooch was created by Mr. E. Gross in the 1970s. Mr. Gross (his name is carved on the back) created fabulous bird carvings as a hobby at that time. This is one of the few pieces left in our collection and will be a conversation piece!

Carved in wood and painted a bright red, the Cardinal bird (the Kentucky state bird) is detailed in black paint and has a sturdy metal pin mechanism on the back. The paint has weathered the years fabulously with no chips or cracks! This would look fabulous on your winter scarves, coats, denim jackets, and blazers!

Size: Bird beak to tail is 3.5 inches (8.89 cm), height is 1 inch (2.54 cm)
